The Most Obliging Butterflies

untitled-1-of-34

Flying excited loops, distracted landings, erratic circles,

untitled-3-of-34

they say, “The flowers

untitled-7-of-34

drenched in sun

untitled-4-of-34

are the sweetest.”

untitled-5-of-34

They tell us,

untitled-6-of-34

“Follow me!”

untitled-8-of-34

“Come, scruffy robin, from the shadows!”

untitled-9-of-34

“The earth is gold and though we are here but for a moment, we know it is worth savoring.”

untitled-10-of-34

“Look and see! Do you know the freedom in the Gift? How wide, how deep, how far?”

untitled-11-of-34

“The breeze knows it, the grasses know it.”

untitled-13-of-34

“We know it. Our wings flirt with the sun, sipping earth’s dew.

untitled-14-of-34

We land as jewels bestowed, undeserved. Do not refuse what you could never earn.”

untitled-17-of-34

“Let us teach you

untitled-18-of-34

how to say goodbye

untitled-19-of-34

to this golden summer light

untitled-20-of-34

and summer creations so frail.”

untitled-21-of-34

“Caught, visible, for a season,

untitled-22-of-34

time for rest is coming now.”

untitled-25-of-34

“There is no need to hoard! You may gather all you can, yet there will always be more.”

untitled-29-of-34

“We, the secrets in the light,

untitled-30-of-34

want you to know: it’s all for you.”

untitled-32-of-34

“Our colors, which we are glad to give, will become your memories.”

untitled-33-of-34

“Receive freely in surrender for the next season will bring more of the Gift,

untitled-34-of-34

even if all the summers of time were fit into this day.”

These photos were taken with an experimental Lensbaby lens and its movable optic attachment. All the blur / tilt-shift-y-ness you see on my blog is from this lens!

  1. Just beautiful! Another great expression of God’s love captured through your gentle touch of a lens. Your well chosen words help us to grasp the feelings you felt. Great work!
